Minerva Canada is pleased to announce its 2013 Minerva Canada James Ham Safe Design Awards contest for undergraduate engineering students which will be open to all Canadian universities. There will be a first and second prize of $3,500 and $1,500 respectively. The awards will be presented in the Spring 2013 at a venue to be determined with Minerva and the winning universities. Final application date for the Awards is April 26,2013. Students are asked to advise Minerva Canada of their intentions to apply for the award by December 21, 2012. This can be done by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Minerva Canada is a not for profit organization whose mission is to promote the teaching of Safety, Health and Environmental management in post-secondary schools across Canada with a special focus on Engineering and Business schools. Past student award winners have come from universities at McMaster, Ontario Institute of Technology, Western Ontario, Queen’s, Manitoba, Ryerson and Waterloo. Aside from choosing projects they’ve completed during summer or co-op employment, students can also choose university design projects they’ve worked on or are currently in progress when applying for the award. The nature of the projects must meet the criteria contained in the contest rules.
